i need some help in gran turismo 4!!?

i picked the toyota sprinter ae 86 for my starting car.. was that a good choice?

i've plowed throught the competition at sunday cup (yay!) but i'm having a hard time keeping up with the cars at the FR challenge.. can anyone give me some tips? how can you tune your cars? i've bought upgrades for my turbo, engine, suspensions etc. and i was wondering if you still tune them up..
and also i'm planning to save up some money to by a BMW m3... is this a good plan.. oh and why is the m3 GTR not for sale? i love that car...

    okay i beat the game and have all of the cars, so at the start everything is a bit slow, maybe sell the car that you won from sunday cup, or renter the sunday cup and reset the trophies so you can win the car again, you will need to do this cup a few times to get the money, buy a used car and oil change it
