    Plain and simple NO!

Ask if you and him go to the Bmw dealer and have it checked out from bumper to bumper. You would have to pay for the inspection.

Wholesale value of that car is $2400 so you are not looking at a good deal at all on this car.

Just because is says M3 on the fender doesn’t mean the car is worth a lot of money. It’s 13 years old, it’s got almost 200K miles on the chassis. The engine may be bulletproof but the clutch, gears, brakes and electrical system are all wearing out. Old BMW’s are notoriously unreliable and they cost a fortune to maintain and insure.

This seller is out of his mind.

That’s way too much unless it’s a convertible or comes with something like an extra set of racing tires and rims and even then it’s a lot for something that’s only worth about $2-$3K.

If something goes wrong you’re looking at a ton of money to fix it. Even standard 3 series are expensive, but if it’s an M division part you’re looking at way more on top of that. At 184K miles it’s going to have a lot of things ready to need replacing even if he took care of it really well.

You know what BMW stands for?

    Big
    Money
    Wasted

Nope. I wouldnt give more than 4 thou for it. Think when you need any work done…$$$

It would be hard to find any M3 for 5500, but with that many miles, you better have the money to maintain and fix the problems which will arise. BMW engines are great and will last, but there is no question that other things that cost a fortune will fail.
