What questions should I ask about a E46 BMW M3 before purchasing?

Are there any things I should be looking out for specifically? I have heard about the bearing rod recall, what exactly is up w/ that does anyone know?

    Don’t ask the dealer anything, since anything not written down doesn’t matter anyway. Got a mechanic you trust? Ask the mechanic. You didn’t say if was new or used. If new, there should be a warranty that covers problems. If used, ask to take it for a test drive. Drive directly to your mechanic and have him check it and give you an opinion.
